I almost didn’t go on this trip. Something happened the night before we were supposed to fly that made me hesitate, but I’m so glad I trusted the pull and said yes.
A friend who recently bought an apartment in La Mata invited us, and even though I was the only girl on the trip, they welcomed me warmly. It turned out to be exactly what I needed.

Day 1 — Setting the Tone and Exploring Guadalest
We started our journey with the Serenity Prayer, a calm and grounding way to begin the days ahead. After a relaxed breakfast, we headed to Guadalest, a small mountain village with one of the most beautiful castles in Spain. The views are stunning — perfect for photos and just soaking in nature’s calm. Don’t miss the charming church nearby for a quiet moment.
If you get travel sickness like me, be ready — the mountain roads can be a bit winding, and I had to make a quick stop at the pharmacy. But it’s worth it.

Day 2 — Alicante Evenings and Beach Vibes After a morning at the beach in La Mata, we headed to Alicante for dinner and ice cream. The city has a lively, welcoming atmosphere — great for an evening stroll and good food.
The next couple of days were pure chill: beach time, sunshine, and just enjoying the simple things with amazing company.

Must-Visit Spots:
La Mata Beach: Soft sand, calm waves, perfect for relaxing or a quiet walk.
Guadalest Castle: History, stunning views, and a small village vibe.
Alicante Old Town: Great food, ice cream, and vibrant streets.
Torrevieja: We also enjoyed dinners here, including a fantastic meal at Boracay — highly recommended if you’re in the area.

There was also time to let loose — dancing by the shore, feeling my skin soak up the sun, my body moving with the waves. Between the warmth of the air and the rhythm of the sea, I felt fully present.
This trip reminded me how important it is to listen to your gut, even when your mind has doubts. Feel what’s right for you, move with it, and trust that it leads you to new places and people who make those places feel like home.
